Shocking...

I sort of summarized my 2009 in my previous post.... but I shouldn't have concluding my 2009 this fast, because the biggest event in my 2009 took place 2 days ago.

I'm quite surprise with the news i received, feeling complicated.

But anyway, since I've been given the trust, i'll give my best to it.

Bring it on! 2010!

Year End

Good bye 2009, welcome 2010!

Here it is, the end of yet another year... Looking back, what i've done in 2009 that worth mentioning here?

...Finally kicked off my MBA
...Visited Hanoi. Missed the flight but got a replacement the next day, spent 1 night in Salak.
...Opened food stall with my MUM,and ofcoz it failed..
...Tried lunch/dinner box delivery service, a business which lasted for 2 months
...Went to the States for the 3rd time, this time with economy class...
...Went to Pulao Redang for the 1st time
...Signed up for a gym membership, enough is enough(my weight).
...Attended countless wedding dinners, 3 of those are my best frens.
...Read 4 books, now reading the 5th one... dun think can finished before 2010 though.
...No pay increment due to the business circumstances..
...Still stuck with the same company, not sure what's the reason to stay on.. may be because i haven't found the reason to leave.
... Learned that i should never mention too much about my job, life is definitely for than that!

Hum... can't say it's a great year, but i 2009 has been full of learnings for me, i see things differently compare to the past. If i have to choose a single word for my 2009, it would be -- Responsibility. I learned that taking care of others and having direct influence to other people's life are not easy tasks, i'm thankful for the opportunity given to me to experience that during this early stage of adulthood, I've learned to never run away from a problem but to face it directly.

2010, i'm ready, are you?

Food for thoughts..

i was attending a surprise training course last week, it was a 4 days course and the reason i say it is surprise because i totally forgot about it... ya.. this happen a lot..

The instructor was Dr Phil Allen, who is in his 70s, yet still doing very well in analog designing and also very well in teaching it around the world. Well.. he was going to lecture on fag process technology which im totally going to sleep thru it...

He asked every1 in the class to do a brief self introduction, I'm was sitting at the last row of the class of 30, and when it came to my turn.. it goes.

Me: "Hi, My name is KhooTeckFei, you can call me TF, i've been my national for 3 years, im a product engineer in high speed division, prior to this job, i was a student at MMU"

PhilAllen: “Well...you still a student now, we can never stop being a student”

Me: "..........ok"

how embarrassing, especially a 70 years old was telling me this.

Is a wake up call for me, he was right, we can never stop being a student, we can never stop learning. Always remember!

Sick Leave

Been really busy for the past few weeks. It's not easy to be an engineer and a MBA student at the same time. Work and study utilized over 90% of my time, i left 10% for myself, my gf, my family and friends, how pathetic...

I've been wanting for a rest for quite sometime, too bad i was so tied up with project at work. i forced to work till 11pm everyday for 2 week just to compile a report. Now that the report has been completed, guess who is my next guest? Flu.. back pain... ya.. i'm only 26. it started when i turn over and grab the phone yesterday, suddenly the pain attack me, it was so painful , i couldn't breath and move for almost 30 sec.

I quickly call Kathy and she brought me to a clinic, the doctor say it was due to improper posture or sitting in the office for overly long hour. He gave me some medicine for the pain and muscle. I can barely walk now but at least i'm feeling better.

How ironic is this? been hoping for a rest, and now i'm having it, just that for the wrong reason.
