damn...

5 weeks has passed, what am i doin here? i have a bad feeling now... very familiar feeling... 3 more weeks to go... and im really unsure about what's going to happen.

Staying in US is a whole new experience to me, people here are generally polite and helpful. Back in M'sia, i always been wondering why ppl got heat up so easily, but at here, is a totally different situation, everybody seems to be smilling and greeting each other. I think this is something we need to learn from the ang mo, and i believe it wouldn't cost us much to do this, would it?

And of coz, every place has it own dark side, the one thing i really don't get it is... In US, we are suppose to pay huge amount of tip to the person who serve us, it doesn't matter if you are dinning in restaurent, hotel room service, or even when you call a cab... like it or not, we need to pay extra 15%-20% of the total amount as tip. Aren't the service charge is already been included in the price?

During my 1st week at here, i remember dinning in a Taiwanese restaurent... my bill was about 30 bucks and i placed an extra 3 bucks for the tips... and the auntie came back and told me...

Auntie : 'Your tip is too less, there's no way we can earn enuff money if everybody tip as less as you do'

Fee : "oh... sorry... here another 2 bucks, this will do it?"

Auntie : "ya... thanks"

fee : ^.^"

5 dollars tip for a 30 dollars meal... That was by far, the most expansive cultural shock i got...

so.. a waitress in US... could easily be earning more than an Engineer in M'sia... damn...

Ok... that's it for the chinese, i'll do better next time..

Without any GPS .. all we had was this..

a purely text driving direction, and 0% tolerence for mistake. We tot it was sufficient... we were wrong...

However, with some help from some friendly and helpful ang mo, we made it to all our destinatios. Not to be bias, but you coulnd't imagine a city like San Francisco has a road traffic system which 2000% less complex and more intuitive than KL. Even the chances of getting loss in Seremban are much higher. Some food for thought for our government?

Anyway, San Francisco is a sunny yet windy city, because of its location at the bay area, wind are stong and kampung boys like me had to wear a thick jacket under the Sun.

I was freezing...

I felt like a gal the minute saw this uncle...

I Dunno how to make this post look very fun and excited. But some of the scene and places here are really quite nice to hang out. However, if i wanna call my self a blogger, i will need to give my best shot to write some beautiful descriptions on the picture i taken.

Golden gate park, Good Ah!

Palace of Art Place- Fit Ah!

San- Francisco Bay side- Syok Ah!

Fisherman Wharf- Most happening place in City, Dim ah!

Sunset view of Golden gate bridge - Good and Fit ah!

And you get nothing but crabs for dinner! - Sai lik ah!

Do you think this post can helps to attract more tourist to San Francisco?

How to remember your Complicated Password..

As world gone more are more "dot com", you'd slowly becoming more and more dependant on internet. Can you imagine a world without internet now? no friendster, no blog, no youtube, no yahoo! or even no Google??

Internet is so important now, even some hightech Alien learned how to leverage it to safe some fuel..

Day by day, for the sake of conveniency and fast execution, everybody is putting more and more private and confidential information in the internet... However, untill certain extends..ppl start questioning about the security of this infinite pool of database.

So, some smart ppl came up with some great idea to keep those self taken nude picture private information safe from bad ppl. One of it is to use a complex password on your online application, like applying alphanumerical passward.. or to make it safer, we better choose CaSeSenSITive + AlphaNUMricAl PasSword as well. Some Online applications are even smart enough to rate their user's passward complexity...

Now... our information are much secured... you happy, i happy and everyone happy. But then... here comes another issue. When all the online application came to realise the importancy of using a "good password", they start forcing ppl to comply it.. or else you are not going to get the registration done. So the problem now is, how are we going to remember so many different sets of username/password in our tiny little brain? At first we trying to keep other ppl from accessing our information... now we are slowing doing the same thing to ourself

I remember during my 1st week at work... i already found my self registered to 1 email account, 1 internet browser account, 3 online applications, 1 unix account, 1 stock account, another unix account (In different environment). Without these accounts, i would spend a day sucking air at my cube...isn't this crazy?

But hey! Every problem comes with a solution... all you need is to use some creativity. If all this complex passwords are giving you a lot of troubles? They are not even close to become one for the "ang mo" here in Silicon Valley - The Mother of All Hightech Solution.

Here's how they solve the problem:

Stoner..

This is nothing personel.
Working in semiconductor line means working with a lot of ppls. To be more specific, working in semicon lines meaning working with a lot of Taiwanese and also chinese (Those in China.). why? simple, they are the kind of ppls who can always deliver quality goods with much cheaper cost, any CEO who knows how to count from 1 to 10 would love them much... Therefore.. in this era of globalization, engineers like me usually need to work with a lot of Taiwanese and Chinese.

The tuff part is... regardless of how good they are at what they are doin, the biggest challenge of working with them is -- communication. Base on my informal statiscal research, most of them dun have good english background, you gotta be very very careful when you are communicating with a Taiwan subcon, especially thru email. In order to make sure they understand your message , my suggestion is to make a call to them instead of using email...

Oh, Am i over reacting??

here's an example - you tell me about it..

(one of my taiwanese counterpart on medical leave for 3 days, knowing he has got back from hospital, my colleugue decided to drop him a mail check things out... turns out... )

Wah! You still alive ah?!

ya.. still pretty much is.

Miss those days when i got all the time to do whatever i wanted to. Nowaday im just another typical working man who never stop complaining about working pressure and money. It's pretty ironic that i actually thought i would have much more money and freedom once i start working. How to make a better life? "Think out of the box" is the key word.. whenever you face any problem or caught in the middle of nowhere, wise man or Manager always like to use this kind of phrase to motivate you. Think out of the box... but then, sometimes the "box" can much bigger than you'd thought.

Alright, enuff of crappy intro. Im actually doing quite well lately, getting more and more hints that my adulthood (mentally) had already kicked in well before i noticed it. 2 days ago, im still convinced that im still a kid who just graduated and bound to be wrong at times. Not untill 2 of my high school friends who date each other announced about their wedding after a gathering. The shocking news hit me deep and hard. Though is not me who getting married, the fact the the peoples who i alway hanging around with.. who play futsal and takei with me.. have started talking about mariage and parenting. Could it be more "adult" than this? im a grown up... and it just got unquestionably true.

Been to Taiwan lately for a business trip. Dun have the time now to elaborate about the trip. But i can do a quick summary about it. That is...

Work work work work work work work eat fun and sleep..
